The team at Dupre have been firing on all cylinders since 2015 and have not put a foot wrong. 2019 is another example of why people love Bordeaux. Pure and bright deep purple, intense blackberry nose on it with bit of pencil shavings. A textbook Claret this actually has a fair bit of body aswell and will need couple of years to reach full maturity. I guarantee you, you will not find a wine of this quality for this price (this would come to you at less than £15.00 per bott. inc. duty and vat !!!) anywhere in the world.
It’s been my house Claret for a while (I’m down to my last case of 2015 - out of the 3 cases of 12 that bought en primeur for myself) and will be moving on to 2016 from the Autumn. 5 cases of 2019 are already on my account. EXCEPTIONAL VALUE NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
I have to mention here that they also make a very high quality white which is on the level of seriously good Pessac whites. This was beautifully aromatic and uplifting. When well made, the combination that one gets out of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon in Bordeaux is impossible to produce anywhere else. You will not believe how good this is. It would be a bargain even at double the price.
